Mt. Tam Swing is back by popular demand after an 14 month break!!
Come to Mt. Tam Swing in Larkspur on Saturday night, March 31, 2012 and learn the hottest dance around! Come by yourself, with friends or with a partner for the introductory dance lesson. Whether a true beginner or an advanced West Coast Swing dancer, there will be dancers of all experience levels to show how popular and fun this dance is.
West
Coast Swing (WCS) evolved out of jitterbug to become a more smooth and
sophisticated dance. It allows you to "play" with your partner
and can
be danced to a wide range of music from rock, blues, hip hop, Motown,
hustle and more. More importantly, WCS is a social dance which means
that you rotate partners during the lesson and, if you choose,
frequently change partners during open dancing.
Kelly Casanova
teaches the beginner WCS lesson. Kelly is fun and entertaining as she
walks you through the basic steps. She also happens to a two-time U.S.
Open Swing Dance Champion. Open dancing follows for dancers
of all
experience levels to the great tunes played by DJ Fred.
No partner or dance experience is needed for the lesson or the dance. All ages are welcome!
